Fortune Cycles and Annual Changes

Cycle timing and annual overlays

1. Learning Objectives

By the end of this chapter, the reader should understand:

  1. Zi Wei Dou Shu is not read only from the birth chart; it also reads changes across different life phases.
  2. The major cycle represents the central axis of a longer life stage, usually understood as a ten-year period.
  3. Minor cycles and annual cycles help observe more specific yearly changes.
  4. The natal chart is the base structure, while fortune cycles and annual cycles are phase activations.
  5. Annual Four Transformations make certain palaces and life themes more visible in a given year.
  6. Career, wealth, relationships, family, relocation, and health energy may all change by year.
  7. Annual forecasting should not be understood as absolute event prediction, but as phase focus, risk awareness, and action reference.
  8. The timing system in Zi Wei Dou Shu exists to help people understand life rhythm better, not to create anxiety.

2. Why Read Fortune Cycles?

The previous chapters explained the basic structure of a Zi Wei Dou Shu chart, including:

twelve palaces
Life Palace
Body Palace
major stars
supporting stars
Four Transformations
career palaces
wealth palaces
relationship palaces

These topics mainly help us understand a person’s basic natal structure.

However, life is not fixed and unchanging.

The same person may have completely different priorities at different stages.

Some people focus on study when young, career in midlife, and later family and assets.

Some people experience rapid career development during one decade, while mental pressure also rises noticeably.

Some people have relationship themes activated in a certain year, making relationship choices central.

Some people have increased financial opportunities in a certain year, but spending and risk also increase.

Some people have the Travel Palace activated in a certain year, bringing more trips, distant places, international matters, or environmental changes.

If we read only the natal chart, we can see only the base structure.

If we add major cycles, minor cycles, annual cycles, and annual Four Transformations, we can see the life focus of different stages.

Therefore, a complete Zi Wei Dou Shu analysis does not only ask:

What kind of natal chart does this person have?

It must also ask:

What phase is the person in now?

Which palace is activated in this phase?

Where is this year’s focus?

Which fields have opportunity?

Which fields require caution?

Is this phase suitable for advancing, preserving, changing, or adjusting?

This is the value of the fortune-cycle system.

3. The Relationship Between the Natal Chart and Timing Cycles

In Zi Wei Dou Shu analysis, we usually distinguish:

LevelMeaning
Natal chartbase structure formed at birth
Major cyclea life phase of roughly ten years
Minor cyclea shorter-cycle phase indicator
Annual cyclethe focus of a specific year
Annual Four Transformationsresources, authority-responsibility, reputation, and pressure activated in a specific year

It can be understood this way:

Natal chart = base map of life
Major cycle = ten-year phase background
Annual cycle = specific theme of one year
Four Transformations = which fields are strengthened or triggered

The natal chart determines a person’s base structure.

The major cycle explains which theme life is moving through in this phase.

The annual cycle explains which matters are more visible in that year.

The Four Transformations show where resources, authority-responsibility, reputation, and pressure fall.

For example:

A person with a strong natal Career Palace already has an obvious career structure.

If, upon entering a certain major cycle, the Career Palace is activated by Hua Quan, career responsibility may become heavier during those ten years.

If one year also has annual Hua Lu in the Career Palace, career resources and opportunities may become more visible in that year.

But if the Fortune Palace also has Hua Ji, inner pressure must be managed while career opportunities increase.

Therefore, timing cycles do not replace the natal chart; they read time changes on the foundation of the natal chart.

4. What Is a Major Cycle?

The major cycle is a very important timing system in Zi Wei Dou Shu.

It usually represents a longer life phase, often understood as a ten-year cycle.

A major cycle helps us observe:

  • the main focus of a ten-year period;
  • whether career is activated during those ten years;
  • whether wealth themes become obvious during those ten years;
  • whether relationships, family, or relocation become key themes;
  • how mental state and pressure structure change during those ten years.

A major cycle is not as specific as an annual cycle.

It is more like the background of a life stage.

For example:

If a major cycle moves to the Career Palace, career and professional responsibility may become the phase axis.

If a major cycle moves to the Wealth Palace, wealth, income, and resource management become more important.

If a major cycle moves to the Spouse Palace, relationship, partner interaction, and cooperation may be emphasized.

If a major cycle moves to the Travel Palace, external environment, distance, cross-region, and cross-platform development become more visible.

If a major cycle moves to the Fortune Palace, mental state, happiness, quality of life, and inner adjustment become important.

A major cycle does not mean only one field will happen during those ten years; rather:

that field more easily becomes one of the main axes of life during that decade.

5. A Major Cycle Is Not Absolute Good or Bad

When many people see a major cycle enter a palace, they quickly ask:

Is this major cycle good or bad?

Will I become rich in these ten years?

Will relationships be bad in these ten years?

Will something happen in these ten years?

This kind of question is too simple.

A major cycle is not simple good or bad; it is a phase theme.

For example:

A major cycle in the Career Palace does not necessarily mean promotion or wealth.

It may mean career responsibility increases, professional pressure grows, and work becomes a life focus.

A major cycle in the Wealth Palace does not necessarily mean good wealth luck.

It may mean earning opportunities increase, but financial pressure, cash flow, and resource management also become important.

A major cycle in the Spouse Palace does not necessarily mean marriage.

It may mean intimate relationship, partner interaction, collaboration, or emotional lessons are activated.

A major cycle in the Fortune Palace does not necessarily mean enjoying life.

It may mean inner state, mental pressure, life quality, and happiness become central.

Therefore, the correct understanding of a major cycle is:

which field becomes more important in this phase, where opportunities appear, where pressure appears, and what needs active management.

6. How to Read a Major Cycle

When reading a major cycle, you can follow this sequence:

Step 1: Read the palace occupied by the major cycle

First see which palace this ten-year phase falls into.

The palace determines the phase theme.

For example:

  • major cycle in the Career Palace: career themes are obvious;
  • major cycle in the Wealth Palace: wealth themes are obvious;
  • major cycle in the Spouse Palace: relationship themes are obvious;
  • major cycle in the Travel Palace: external development themes are obvious;
  • major cycle in the Property Palace: family, property, and asset themes are obvious;
  • major cycle in the Fortune Palace: inner state and happiness themes are obvious.

Step 2: Read the stars inside the major-cycle palace

Which major stars, supporting stars, and challenging stars are inside this palace?

If the major stars are stable, the phase may develop more steadily.

If change-oriented stars are obvious, the phase may contain more change.

If challenging stars are obvious, pressure and tests may be stronger.

If supportive stars are obvious, benefactors, support, and resources may appear during the phase.

Step 3: Read the major-cycle Four Transformations

The major-cycle Four Transformations show resources, authority-responsibility, reputation, and stuck points in this ten-year phase.

  • major-cycle Hua Lu: resources and opportunities of this phase;
  • major-cycle Hua Quan: responsibility and drive of this phase;
  • major-cycle Hua Ke: reputation, documents, benefactors, and easing in this phase;
  • major-cycle Hua Ji: pressure, attachment, and lessons of this phase.

Step 4: Read the relationship between the major cycle and natal chart

The major cycle cannot be separated from the natal chart.

If it activates a strong natal palace, original advantages may become more obvious.

If it activates a pressured natal palace, original lessons may be amplified.

If major-cycle Hua Ji hits an important natal palace, that related field needs more caution.

Step 5: Combine the real-life age and stage

The same palace appears differently at different ages.

For example:

A major cycle in the Career Palace when young may mean learning a professional direction, internships, first jobs, or major choices.

In midlife, it may mean position, entrepreneurship, management, or career expansion.

In a later phase, it may mean social role, career completion, reputation, or responsibility.

Therefore, a major cycle must be read with real age and life context.

7. What Is a Minor Cycle?

The minor cycle is one of the short-cycle observation methods in Zi Wei Dou Shu.

It is often used as an auxiliary way to judge the state of a particular year.

Compared with the major cycle, it is shorter and more specific.

Compared with the annual cycle, different schools use the minor cycle in different ways.

For an introductory course, it can first be understood this way:

the major cycle reads a ten-year phase, the minor cycle can serve as an auxiliary annual-state reference, and the annual cycle reads the specific activation of a given year.

The minor cycle cannot be judged alone apart from the natal chart and annual cycle.

If the palace of the minor cycle echoes the annual focus, that theme becomes more obvious.

If the minor cycle falls in a pressured palace and annual Four Transformations also activate related palaces, that field may need more attention in that year.

However, beginners should not rely too heavily on the minor cycle at the start.

It is better to first master:

  1. natal structure;
  2. major-cycle phase;
  3. annual palace;
  4. annual Four Transformations.

The minor cycle can be used as support, not the only basis.

8. What Is an Annual Cycle?

The annual cycle represents the changes of a specific year.

It is used to observe:

  • which fields are emphasized in that year;
  • which palaces are activated;
  • which matters are more likely to change;
  • whether themes such as career, wealth, relationships, family, and relocation become visible;
  • which fields have resources;
  • which fields have pressure;
  • where active management is needed.

The annual cycle is more specific than the major cycle.

If the major cycle is the background of a ten-year phase, the annual cycle is the specific chapter of that year.

For example:

The major cycle may show career as the ten-year axis.

If the annual Wealth Palace is activated in one year, wealth, income, and resource management within the career phase become more important.

If the annual Spouse Palace is activated in one year, relationship themes may also become a yearly focus within that career phase.

If the annual Travel Palace is activated in one year, career opportunities may come from external places, distance, business trips, cross-region activity, or public platforms.

Therefore, annual cycles must be understood within the background of the major cycle.

9. How Do Annual Palaces Move?

Annual analysis in Zi Wei Dou Shu maps a given year to a certain palace in the chart.

That annual palace becomes one of the key observation points of the year.

The meaning of annual palace movement is:

each year has a different life focus, and different palaces are activated by the time force of that year.

For example:

If the annual cycle moves to the Career Palace, career, position, work responsibility, and professional development may become more obvious.

If it moves to the Wealth Palace, income, spending, financial management, and resource allocation may become more obvious.

If it moves to the Spouse Palace, relationship, collaboration, and partner interaction may become more obvious.

If it moves to the Travel Palace, going out, distant places, changing environment, and external opportunities may become more obvious.

If it moves to the Property Palace, family, property, residence, and asset foundation may become more obvious.

If it moves to the Parents Palace, documents, elders, systems, certificates, and applications may become more obvious.

This does not mean only that field will happen during the year; it means that field more easily becomes a yearly theme.

10. Annual Four Transformations

Annual Four Transformations are a very important part of annual analysis.

They include:

annual Hua Lu
annual Hua Quan
annual Hua Ke
annual Hua Ji

They indicate different life fields being activated by different forces in a given year.

Annual Hua Lu

This means a certain field more easily has resources, opportunities, attraction, and smoothness in that year.

For example:

Annual Hua Lu in the Wealth Palace may increase yearly wealth opportunities.

Annual Hua Lu in the Career Palace may increase career resources.

Annual Hua Lu in the Spouse Palace may increase relationship attraction and emotional resources.

Annual Hua Lu in the Travel Palace may increase external opportunities, distant resources, or social opportunities.

However, Hua Lu does not guarantee results.

It only shows that resources and attraction are more visible.

Annual Hua Quan

This means responsibility, drive, control, and pressure increase in a certain field in that year.

For example:

Annual Hua Quan in the Career Palace increases career responsibility and requires active pushing.

Annual Hua Quan in the Wealth Palace increases financial-management pressure and requires active control.

Annual Hua Quan in the Spouse Palace makes leadership, boundaries, and responsibility in relationship more obvious.

Annual Hua Quan in the Travel Palace increases external competition and action demand.

Hua Quan is not simply good.

It often means one must act and must carry responsibility.

Annual Hua Ke

This means a certain field more easily has reputation, documents, benefactors, refinement, easing, and recognition in that year.

For example:

Annual Hua Ke in the Career Palace may bring professional image, recognition, documents, or benefactor support in career.

Annual Hua Ke in the Parents Palace may make certificates, applications, study, elders, or institutional support more visible.

Annual Hua Ke in the Spouse Palace makes relationship value respectability, communication, and easing.

Annual Hua Ke in the Life Palace makes personal image, learning, and professional expression easier to see.

Hua Ke is usually gentle, but it does not mean all problems are solved.

Annual Hua Ji

This means a certain field more easily becomes a pressure point, attachment, stuck point, or lesson that must be faced in that year.

For example:

Annual Hua Ji in the Wealth Palace asks for attention to financial management, cash flow, spending, or resource anxiety.

Annual Hua Ji in the Career Palace makes career pressure, work obstacles, or professional repetition more visible.

Annual Hua Ji in the Spouse Palace amplifies misunderstanding, attachment, pressure, or communication problems in relationship.

Annual Hua Ji in the Fortune Palace asks for attention to inner pressure, unease, insufficient rest, or mental depletion.

Annual Hua Ji does not equal bad luck.

It is a yearly reminder:

this field needs to be faced more carefully, maturely, and seriously this year.

11. Natal Chart and Current Timing

Annual analysis cannot look only at the annual cycle.

Three layers must be combined:

natal chart
major-cycle phase
annual activation

It can be understood this way:

The natal chart shows the foundation

It explains the person’s original strengths and pressures.

For example:

A strong natal Career Palace means career is originally an important field.

A pressured natal Wealth Palace means wealth management is already a lesson.

A natal Spouse Palace with communication pressure means relationship already requires attention to expression and boundaries.

The major cycle shows the phase

It explains where the life focus is in the ten-year period.

If the major cycle moves to the Career Palace, career may come to the front during this decade even if the natal career structure is not the strongest.

If the major cycle moves to the Fortune Palace, inner state, happiness, and mental pressure become more important during this decade.

If the major cycle moves to the Travel Palace, external environment, distant opportunities, and change become more visible.

The annual cycle shows yearly triggers

It explains which specific matter is more visible in this year.

During the same career-oriented major cycle, one year may focus on finance, another on relationship, another on relocation, and another on documents.

Therefore, mature judgment must ask:

what the natal chart contains, where the major cycle moves, and what the annual cycle activates.

12. Annual Career Changes

To read annual career changes, usually focus on:

Career Palace
Life Palace
Body Palace
Travel Palace
Wealth Palace
Fortune Palace
annual Career Palace
annual Four Transformations

Career Palace activated by annual Hua Lu

Career resources and opportunities increase.

There may be projects, position opportunities, client resources, or a stronger sense of return from work.

But one must still see whether the person can carry it.

Career Palace activated by annual Hua Quan

Career responsibility increases.

The person may need to take on more tasks, seek leadership, and handle management pressure.

This suits active advancement, but overwork and decision pressure should be watched.

Career Palace activated by annual Hua Ke

Reputation, professional image, certificates, documents, and benefactor support become more visible in career.

It suits building a professional brand, applying for qualifications, publishing content, or seeking recognition.

Career Palace activated by annual Hua Ji

Career pressure, obstruction, or repetition becomes more visible.

It does not mean career failure, but reminds:

  • work processes need caution;
  • do not impulsively change direction;
  • pay attention to communication and responsibility boundaries;
  • avoid over-commitment;
  • long-term stuck points need to be handled.

13. Annual Wealth Changes

To read annual wealth changes, usually read:

Wealth Palace
Career Palace
Property Palace
Fortune Palace
Life Palace
annual Wealth Palace
annual Four Transformations

Annual Hua Lu in the Wealth Palace

Income opportunities, client resources, and financial resources may increase.

It is suitable to focus on monetization, resource integration, and client conversion.

But increased consumption should also be watched.

Annual Hua Quan in the Wealth Palace

Finances need active control.

Earning pressure may increase, or important financial decisions may need to be made.

It is suitable to establish budgets, cash-flow plans, and cost control.

Annual Hua Ke in the Wealth Palace

Finances may improve through professionalism, documents, certificates, reputation, or standardized procedures.

It is suitable to make the income structure more regulated.

Annual Hua Ji in the Wealth Palace

Financial pressure, spending, cash flow, and resource anxiety become more visible.

Impulsive investment and excessive consumption are not suitable.

Conservative management, risk checking, and budget control are more suitable.

14. Annual Relationship Changes

To read annual relationship changes, usually read:

Spouse Palace
Life Palace
Fortune Palace
Travel Palace
Children Palace
annual Spouse Palace
annual Four Transformations

Annual Hua Lu in the Spouse Palace

Relationship attraction, emotional resources, and interaction opportunities increase.

There may be more relationship opportunities, or more enjoyment of relationship.

But over-dependence on sweetness should be avoided.

Annual Hua Quan in the Spouse Palace

Responsibility, leadership, and boundary issues in relationship increase.

This may be relationship progress, or it may be increased control and pressure.

Authority and responsibility need more mature communication.

Annual Hua Ke in the Spouse Palace

Relationship values respectability, communication, easing, and rational handling more strongly.

It is suitable to repair misunderstandings, maintain respect, and improve relationship through communication.

Annual Hua Ji in the Spouse Palace

Misunderstanding, attachment, pressure, or difficulty letting go becomes more visible in relationship.

It does not mean definite breakup.

But this year needs special attention to:

  • emotional expression;
  • communication boundaries;
  • explanation of misunderstandings;
  • avoiding repeated entanglement;
  • not replacing communication with cold treatment.

15. Annual Health Energy and Stress Changes

Zi Wei Dou Shu cannot replace medical diagnosis.

But it can use the Health Palace, Fortune Palace, Life Palace, and related palaces to observe annual stress and life rhythm.

To read health energy and pressure, pay attention to:

Health Palace
Fortune Palace
Life Palace
Career Palace
annual Health Palace
annual Fortune Palace
annual Four Transformations

Health Palace activated

Physical state, daily rhythm, and ways pressure expresses itself need attention.

If the annual Health Palace has challenging stars or Hua Ji, it does not mean illness is certain, but reminds:

  • rest should be valued;
  • pressure management should be taken seriously;
  • long-term overdraw should be avoided;
  • discomfort should be checked promptly;
  • the chart should not replace medical judgment.

Fortune Palace activated by Hua Ji

Inner mental pressure becomes more obvious.

It may appear as:

  • poor sleep;
  • difficulty relaxing;
  • too much thinking;
  • emotional depletion;
  • reduced satisfaction with life.

It is advisable to build rest, movement, emotional regulation, and a stable daily rhythm.

Career Palace Hua Quan or Hua Ji affecting pressure

When career responsibility increases or career is blocked, health energy can also be affected.

Therefore, health energy cannot be read only from the Health Palace; career pressure and Fortune Palace condition must also be considered.

16. Relocation, Moving, and External Opportunities

The Travel Palace is very important in annual analysis.

It can read:

  • going out;
  • business trips;
  • other locations;
  • distant places;
  • overseas matters;
  • changing environment;
  • external platforms;
  • cross-circle opportunities;
  • outward development.

Annual Hua Lu in the Travel Palace

External opportunities, networks, and distant resources increase.

It is suitable to go outward, cooperate externally, expand markets, and contact new environments.

Annual Hua Quan in the Travel Palace

External action and competitive pressure increase.

The person may need to actively expand, or business trips, movement, and external affairs may increase.

Annual Hua Ke in the Travel Palace

Benefactors, documents, professional recognition, or image improvement are easier to find in external environments.

It is suitable for outward display, applications, cooperation, and building professional reputation.

Annual Hua Ji in the Travel Palace

External environments may bring obstruction, travel pressure, repeated plans, or instability.

It does not necessarily mean travel or relocation is impossible, but planning should be more cautious.

17. Boundaries of Annual Forecasting

Annual forecasting has value, but its boundaries must be understood.

Zi Wei Dou Shu annual analysis cannot replace:

  • medical diagnosis;
  • legal advice;
  • financial investment advice;
  • marriage decisions;
  • professional qualification judgment;
  • real-world investigation;
  • personal choice and responsibility.

Annual forecasting also should not say:

You will definitely become rich this year.

You will definitely break up this year.

You will definitely become ill this year.

You will definitely fail this year.

A more mature expression is:

Financial themes are activated this year, so cash-flow management should be strengthened.

Relationship lessons are obvious this year, so communication and boundaries deserve attention.

Career responsibility increases this year; opportunity and pressure coexist.

Inner pressure is more obvious this year, so stable rest and emotional regulation should be built.

The goal of annual forecasting is not to create anxiety, but to help people understand rhythm in advance.

18. How to Create a Mature Annual Analysis

A mature annual analysis can follow this structure:

Overall annual theme

What is the most obvious life field this year?

For example:

  • a career-advancement year;
  • a wealth-management year;
  • a relationship-adjustment year;
  • an external-expansion year;
  • a family-and-assets year;
  • an inner-repair year.

Career trend

Read the Career Palace, Travel Palace, Life Palace, Body Palace, and annual Four Transformations.

Explain career opportunities, responsibility, pressure, and suitable action style.

Wealth trend

Read the Wealth Palace, Career Palace, Property Palace, Fortune Palace, and annual Four Transformations.

Explain income opportunities, spending pressure, asset management, and risk control.

Relationship and intimacy

Read the Spouse Palace, Life Palace, Fortune Palace, Travel Palace, and annual Four Transformations.

Explain relationship opportunities, communication pressure, boundaries, and emotional lessons.

Family and assets

Read the Property Palace, Parents Palace, and Children Palace.

Explain themes involving family, residence, property, elders, children, and shared responsibilities.

Health energy and stress

Read the Health Palace, Fortune Palace, Life Palace, and Career Palace.

Only provide stress and life-rhythm reminders, not medical judgment.

Annual suggestions

Finally, provide clear suggestions:

  • what is suitable to actively advance;
  • what requires caution;
  • which fields need boundaries;
  • which pressures need to be managed early;
  • which opportunities are worth grasping.

19. Example 1: A Career-Advancement Year

Assume in a certain year:

  • annual Hua Quan is in the Career Palace;
  • annual Hua Lu is in the Wealth Palace;
  • Hua Ji is in the Fortune Palace;
  • the Travel Palace has supportive stars.

This can be analyzed as follows:

Hua Quan in the Career Palace increases career responsibility and requires active advancement.

Hua Lu in the Wealth Palace increases income opportunity and resource feeling.

Support in the Travel Palace means external cooperation or platform opportunities are relatively good.

Hua Ji in the Fortune Palace means inner pressure, rest, and mental state require attention.

Annual suggestion:

This year is suitable for actively advancing career and external cooperation, and income opportunities may also increase. But career opportunity comes with pressure, so long-term overdraw is not suitable. Focus on key projects and high-value cooperation while establishing a stable rest rhythm to avoid excessive mental depletion from career expansion.

20. Example 2: A Relationship-Adjustment Year

Assume in a certain year:

  • annual Hua Ji is in the Spouse Palace;
  • Hua Quan is in the Life Palace;
  • the Fortune Palace carries heavy pressure;
  • Hua Lu is in the Travel Palace.

This can be analyzed as follows:

Hua Ji in the Spouse Palace amplifies attachment, misunderstanding, or pressure in relationship.

Hua Quan in the Life Palace strengthens self-direction and may increase the desire to control the situation.

Heavy pressure in the Fortune Palace means the inner state does not relax easily.

Hua Lu in the Travel Palace increases external social opportunities or outside opportunities.

Annual suggestion:

This year, relationship needs special attention to communication and boundaries. You may want more control over where the relationship is going, but the harder you force control, the more pressure may appear. External opportunities and social activity increase, but do not use outside busyness to avoid relationship issues. Honest communication is more suitable than repeated testing or cold treatment.

21. Example 3: A Wealth-Management Year

Assume in a certain year:

  • annual Hua Ji is in the Wealth Palace;
  • Hua Ke is in the Career Palace;
  • Hua Lu is in the Property Palace;
  • the Fortune Palace is stable.

This can be analyzed as follows:

Hua Ji in the Wealth Palace makes cash flow, spending, and financial security the focus.

Hua Ke in the Career Palace helps professional image, documents, certificates, and standardized procedures.

Hua Lu in the Property Palace brings opportunity in family resources, property, long-term assets, or stable foundations.

A stable Fortune Palace shows better inner endurance.

Annual suggestion:

This year is not suited to aggressive financial decisions. The focus should be cash-flow management and risk control. In career, professional image, standardized contracts, certificates, qualifications, or document processes can help improve the income structure. Long-term assets or family resources may provide support, but short-term impulsive investment should still be avoided.

22. Key Points of This Chapter

This chapter should leave you with the following key points:

  1. Zi Wei Dou Shu is not a static chart; timing changes must also be read.
  2. The natal chart is the base structure, while major and annual cycles are phase activations.
  3. A major cycle usually represents the central life axis of a ten-year phase.
  4. A minor cycle can be used as auxiliary reference for annual state.
  5. An annual cycle represents the yearly focus of one specific year.
  6. Annual Four Transformations can show where resources, authority-responsibility, reputation, and pressure fall in a given year.
  7. Annual career changes should read the Career Palace, Life Palace, Body Palace, Travel Palace, Wealth Palace, and annual Four Transformations.
  8. Annual wealth changes should read the Wealth Palace, Career Palace, Property Palace, Fortune Palace, and annual Four Transformations.
  9. Annual relationship changes should read the Spouse Palace, Life Palace, Fortune Palace, Travel Palace, and annual Four Transformations.
  10. Health energy can only be used as stress and life-rhythm reference; it cannot replace medical diagnosis.
  11. Annual prediction is not absolute event judgment, but phase focus and action reference.
  12. Mature annual analysis should help people understand rhythm in advance, grasp opportunity, and manage risk.

23. Common Questions

Does a major cycle always govern ten years?

A major cycle is usually understood as one ten-year phase.

Details may differ among charting systems and schools, but at the introductory level it can first be understood as a longer-stage life background.

Does the annual cycle read only one year?

Yes, the annual cycle mainly reads the yearly theme of one specific year.

But it must be read within the natal chart and major-cycle background, not in isolation.

Is the minor cycle important?

The minor cycle can serve as auxiliary reference.

Beginners should first master the natal chart, major cycle, annual cycle, and Four Transformations, then gradually understand the minor cycle.

Does annual Hua Ji mean that year must be bad?

No.

Annual Hua Ji means a certain field more easily becomes a pressure point or lesson in that year.

It reminds you to be more cautious, not that bad luck is certain.

Does annual Hua Quan in the Career Palace guarantee promotion?

Not necessarily.

It indicates increased career responsibility, drive, and need for control.

It may be promotion, but it may also be heavier tasks, more pressure, or the need to actively take responsibility.

Can annual prediction be precise down to specific events?

Zi Wei Dou Shu can analyze annual themes and tendencies, but should not be over-absolute about specific events.

Mature prediction should focus on trends, priorities, risks, and suggestions.
